Welcome to Laura Taylor Therapy
I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have over 12 years experience working in health care for the NHS.
I initially trained as a Nurse and worked in hospitals across Hull and the East Riding, but I’d always been interested in mental health. In 2018, I decided to follow this interest and worked within an NHS talking therapies service for nearly 7 years. In this time, I gained lots of valuable experience and knowledge assessing and treating a wide variety of different mental health conditions.
In 2024, I set up my own practice to focus on additional specialities and interests in CBT as well as research and therapies for Parkinson’s Disease. I love working with people and supporting them to make positive changes and feel very fortunate to be a part of their progress.
Please note - I do not offer crisis services. If you need urgent support, please contact your local NHS crisis team or the emergency services.
When seeking therapy, it is essential that the people you go to are professional, accountable and maintain a high standard of practice. Unfortunately, there are people who advertise CBT (or talking therapy) services who are not accredited or regulated. Regardless of who you have treatment with, please feel free to contact the person to confirm their credentials before starting treatment.
The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists (BABCP) is the main regulator for the CBT profession. You can search the register by following this link: CBT Search Results (babcp.com)
As you can imagine, there’s lots of people that share the same surname as me but please feel free to search the register to confirm my accreditation. Alternatively, you can email me and I’d be happy to provide my BABCP membership number which helps narrow down the search.
I am fully accredited to the BABCP and uphold the principles outlined in the BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics. More information on this can be found here: BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics
